The bullets were fired following an altercation that started “between a small group,” according to the Fairfax County Police Department. Beyond what it said on Twitter, the department stated that it has nothing further to say at this time.
The mall has been shut down as of 3:47 p.m., and police warn visitors to stay away from the area. There have been no more gunfire reported.

FCPD claims on Twitter that there are currently no reports of an active shooter and that they are evacuating the mall to make sure no other suspects are inside.
