KK never wanted to be a singer, his childhood dream was to become a doctor. KK Kishoye considers Kumar Burman as his mentor and made music his career in meditation. During his college days, he did a band with his friend.
UTV gave KK the first break. During those four salons, KK has appeared in over 3,500 commercials in 11 Indian languages. KK considers Leslie Lewis as his mentor, as he was the one who gave KK the opportunity to sing in the commercial for the first time. Noted film director Vishal Bhardwaj gave KK the first opportunity to sing in Bollywood. He started his stint in Bollywood with ‘Chhor Aaye Hum’ from “Maachis” and went on to sing many more popular songs. Vishal Bhardwaj also gave him his first solo song. But it was his soulful singing in ‘Tadap Tadap Ke’ from “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” that made him famous.
